It began with a quirky song lyric that got stuck in my head — one of those lines that sounds literal but means something entirely different in the song.
It amused me so much that I decided to paint it literally, turning the lyric into a visual puzzle. This painting is completely different from my usual work.
The whole point of the painting is the game: people must guess the lyric, then guess which track it’s from.
The only clue I ever give is that it’s a song Elvis Presley among other artists sang. Everything else is hidden in plain sight, painted as a kind of cryptic joke. Everything else is hidden in plain sight, painted as a kind of cryptic joke.
It’s not meant to be serious or symbolic — it’s meant to make people smile, tilt their heads, and argue with each other about what the lyric could possibly be. A playful little riddle disguised as a painting.
