Gran, Hilda, feeling elegant in her heels, sits behind Grandad, Allan, who is there in front of her on their beloved scooter, Dougie, ready to set off. She wasn’t pleased when he first brought Dougie home, but in time she grew to love him just as much. The painting captures their warm, spirited nature — a quiet celebration of two people whose everyday moments became treasured memories.
